This is a free reference tool for people who have been injured and want a grounded estimate of what their claim might be worth before they talk to a lawyer. No signup, no contact details, no charge. You enter what happened, you get a number and the reasoning behind it, and you decide what to do next.
What this site is
A calculator, a set of state-law reference tables, and a written explanation of how the two fit together. The formula applies the multiplier method to the economic losses you enter, then applies your state's comparative-fault rule, any damages cap that governs your claim type, and the deductions that come out of a settlement before you see any of it. We publish every step of that, including the parts that are our judgment rather than settled law: how our estimates are calculated.
There are eight calculators, one per claim type: Car Accident, Medical Malpractice, Slip and Fall, Workers' Comp, Pain and Suffering, Uber & Lyft Accident, Wrongful Death and Dog Bite. Each one applies its own multiplier floor, its own damages-cap field and its own filing deadline, because those differ by claim type as well as by state. Workers' compensation runs on a statutory benefit formula rather than a settlement multiplier, so it asks different questions and returns a different kind of answer.
The estimate is a net figure, not a gross settlement headline. A number that ignores the attorney fee, the case costs and the medical lien is not the number that reaches your bank account, and the gap between the two is usually large enough to change what a person decides.
What this site is not
We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice. Nobody who works on this site is an attorney, and nothing here is a substitute for someone licensed in your state reading your file. We may be paid when we connect you with a lawyer, and that happens only if you ask us to: the terms and the privacy policy set out how.
The estimates are starting points, not promises. Real settlements turn on evidence, on the venue, on the adjuster assigned to the file, on how well the treatment is documented, and on a dozen other things no formula sees. We show a range rather than a single figure for that reason, and we say plainly where the range came from.
If your claim involves surgery, a permanent injury, disputed liability, or any significant sum, talk to a licensed personal injury attorney in your state. Ask whether the first consultation is free, and bring your numbers with you. A consultation where you already know the shape of your own claim is a better use of the hour than one that starts from scratch.
How we try to earn your trust
We are not a law firm and we have no personal legal expertise to lean on, so the only authority this site can honestly claim is the kind you can check. Every state-law figure in the calculator comes from a primary source, the reasoning behind every number is written out, and where our research could not establish a figure we publish nothing and say so rather than filling the gap: read the methodology and the provenance.
